intrum scope Sightron vs Viper

Post by dan_351 »

Soooo i haven't really slept since the shotshow on the weekend...
Way too many ideas and more thinking on how to funds these recent idea..... If that makes sense

Just curious what peoples thoughts are on the 6-24x50 or 56 orderings in the Sightron and the Viper PST

I have plans for something premium 'one day' and have looked at the follow

z5 in 5-25
Ziess HD in 5-25 x 56
Khales... i think the k Series but without the dicky dial (poor offering at the show i have to admit)
a couple of Nightforces in the same range but am not convinced they perform as well as the others at night

I am looking for peoples opinions on the sightron and Vipers incase i have a REAL need well short of the high end stuff

The scope he is going to use in the interim between now and when he can afford a high end scope.

Dan I have had vortex vipers in the past and they were good, I have never heard a bad report about the sightron scopes but equally have never used one myself

The Sightron s3 series is far better than the Ziess HD5 for about the same money, so your premium threshold line is a bit blurred.

What is it going on Dan? For what kind of shooting?

Jason, in what ways is the sightron better? I have no experience with either.

After owning all the top end scopes rather than list them ill just say it , and only trying to help out , I've stuck with 2 scopes , a weaver 6-20 grand slam and a 8-32 night force , the grand slam is my go to spotlighting scope because its half the weight of the night force , I'd steer clear of anything with side parralex as I've found them so critical in there adjustment when spotlighting ,the other thing is no matter how good your scope is if the gun ain't up to the task you won't be shooting foxes at 350 yds of a night time , a grand slam or night force will do everything you could ever need as far as you could hit him , I've had my rave now I feel better, just trying to help with your choice :D ps I'm sure someone will disagree though

ive got vortex on all my rifles. been very happy with them. snapped up a bargain the other day on a sightron s3 and put it on the new sako, this thing is clear!!! manage to get out for a shot yesterday in the blizzard like conditions and couldn't fault it. very clear, wasn't hampered by the rain in any way. easy adjustment. very happy with it.

i'm not all that fusy either (i have 8 vx3 loopys) but i expect better than $100 performance

and there warranty......... You see, it doesn't matter how it happened, whose fault it was, or where you purchased it. You can count on the VIP Warranty for all Vortex Optics.......

is the biggest load of shit i have ever heard i bought my scope here in aus and they wont even look at it because i can't find my rescript....
