Dr G wrote:Election posters work good to, one of our local candidates donated me a few to use as backing boards after the last election seeing as it was the last time he would run. Waste of good core flute I reckon

Dr G
That's what I thought, so I ended up scoring (legally) a heap of posters after the last federal election. They are currently being installed to line the ceiling of my reloading section in the shed. Light weight, the right price and the small hardiflex joiners at Bunnings fit perfectly for the seams. I will probably end up lining the walls as well.

And when I'm finished, what's left over will be used for the exact purpose you have mentioned Doc.

cheers, curan

The normal election poster is 890mm high by 590mm wide. The narrow ones are 890mm high by 390mm wide. Each have one side that is a rather appealing shade of white on a white background. The other sides vary .......

Not sure what sizes you can get commercially.

Core flute comes in standard 2440 x 1220 sheets from signwriter supply places. Or smaller and much more expensive sheets from the hardware chains.

You can get it from bottle shop drive throughout too. They go through their signs rather quickly and tend to have a pile out the back.

Thanks fellas, looks like there is a lot of variability between sizes :(

I'll just get on and make some target frames & find core flute that suits that instead.

Flip, thats a good tip on the bottle shops

Look up the sign writers near you and ring em. The heavier duty stuff is perfect.

I grabbed a sheet to make model RC planes. Can get it 2mm up to I think at least 10mm.

Using it for lining sounds like a neat idea easy to use and screw on.

It's also very lightweight, so it's great for ceiling panels. And liquid nails holds it on really well!

Plus as I mentioned before, the hardiflex joiner strips fit it well, making for a reasonably neat job (for a shed).
