Depends what style you want and what you consider a reasonable price. I've been using a fallkniven U2 lockback folder recently which is worth about a $100, otherwise a Swiss army folder or the swiss army hunter lock back which should be a bit less.

Bimbo, I bought an Excalibur folder from king of knives in Charlestown.... cost me $49. Great little knife for small game up to goats. Holds an edge really well for a cheapie.

I'll get a pic for you if you're interested mate?

that would be great, I have a feeling the one I lost was an excalibur, about a 2.5-3 inch lockback blade. wasnt pretty but got the job done. certainly better than the stanley knife and blunt leatherman that whre used to scalp subsequent foxes

budget wise I was thinking less than 100, less the better though - it will hurt less when it gets left out in the middle of a paddock somewhere.

Mercator K55k, around $36, brilliant knife for the money.

I'll second Buff Buster & the Excalibar. Easy to sharpen , holds its edge well for a reasonable cheapy. Can't beat it in my opinion.

Bugger me. I was given one of these when I started my apprenticeship 30 years ago. Only difference is the scales on mine are timber. We were expected to carry it with us everywhere and got in big trouble if we couldn't produce it on demand. The good old days.

Maybe have a look at CRKT knives. Pretty happy with mine, nice a small, works well on rabbits and takes up no room. Could look at moving it on if you like. happy to take a pic if you want.
