Traditionally the low lumen, tight focus lights using the xr-e emitter (also known as the r2) matched with a wide and deep smooth reflector. Solarforce Pro-1, Tiablo A9 and A10. These lights aren't popular anymore and the Pro-1 just went out of production. Cheapy ones are the Jacob A60 and Unique fire HS802 from Deal extreme.

Otherwise, the aspheric lens lights like the Dereelight Night Master and Xsearcher with the xr-e emitter, have zero spill and a lightsabre beam with an easy 400m of real throw.

now im looking at a new mount for the rifle.
the rubber one i got from dx has served its purpose and its time to upgrade.

what have you used and does one stand out better than the rest ?

Get the red filter to go on it and you'll love it on the .22

My Solarforce Pro-1 barely clears my 40mm AO scopes with a very high ring. (Pro-1 has a 57mm head, that's the smaller M3 pictured in the same ring I use on the pro-1)

The green in particular has a bit of oomph.

Best thing is I can swap between the colours in the one torch in about a minute. Just unscrew the head off, screw the LED pill unit out, put new one in.

I currently have four different ones for the Solarforce M3 - the green, the red, a Cree XP-G2 overdriven at 2.8A for good throw and the stock XM-L which is floodier.

So it's mission adaptable, in tac-speak.
