US Optics ST-10

About 9 weeks ago I decided to finally take the plunge and order one of these after reading about them constantly on a US tactical forum for months and months.

It arrived last Monday - 9 calendar days after being shipped from the states, but due to work commitments (and lack of a torque screwdriver which is on its way already) I have been unable to mount this little bugger up and take it down to St Marys for sighting in & such.

Initial impression, this thing is built like a brick shithouse, excellent image quality and the turret movements seem fairly tight. Granted some may think it isn't pretty, but i do Am I happy with this purchase? Sh*t yes. I am now quite happy just getting a lower end Leupold for my .22 and i'll be done (until i move into the 6mm's or 30 cals...)

The scope is purely to aid in pest eradication and it is going to be on top of my Tikka 595 in .223

Specs:
Us Optics ST-10
10x44mm
M40 turrets - metric measurements: 1cm = 1cm @ 100m
butler creek flip caps for objective & eyepiece
GAP reticle - mil spacing every hash mark = .5 mil
(please excuse poor image quality - the only camera I have is my phone camera )

The scope has a 30mm body so I also needed to get new rings, I got the rings at the same time as the scope through US Optics which were (no close up pics of the assembled rings though yet sorry)

Altogether, after FedEx hit me with about $215 AU after landing, it cost ~$1,900 AUD (scope & rings) to get it into the country at the end of it all & an agonising 8 week wait after the initial payment

I'll add updates (and hopefully more pics) when I get a chance to take it for a go down at St Marys & hopefully out to Silverdale when i get the chance to run it out at distance, etc.

Hi WM

A member of the club I'm in (MBRC) has your scopes big brother, I forget what power it is but it is a high powered variable with a large objective lense and a 30mm+ something tube. It is on top of his 308 and uses it out to 1,000yards.
It is a very nice scope, works flawlesly, briliant optics and looks the part on his tactical styled rifle. I won't mention what he payed for it but I'm sure you will know.
I'm sure you will be basolutely over the moon when you get your rifle sighted in and start using the turrets for varying ranges.
I have a Tikka Tactical in 223 with a 1:8 barrel, I also use it for F Class standard. What twist is your Tikka?

PB - I'm running a 1 in 12 twist on my tikka with 55gn v-maxes at the moment - i need to shoot more at a distance of over 200m at a range to see if i want to experiment more in terms of powder, proj weight, etc,, but the 55's have been pretty decent (those barnes varmint grenades (not sure what they are called) look interesting though)
A mate is going for his shooters lic. and as such, i have been fondling a lot of rem 700's while he is next to me, i'm thinking that i'll go for the ltr or 700P for the next "upgrade" (cost of the rebarrel & restock of the tikka is about the same as getting the rem 700 ltr / P straight out but that is more of a long term idea atm) either way, with this scope, i'm going to be able to actually find out how much a bullet drops at what distance etc, which will have a good effect on reducing a rabbit population
