just a quick one guys and girls.
What is the average time your chargemaster dispenses a charge. Reason I ask is that I think i have purchased a slow unit. At 25.0g of 2206h it takes on average 45sec to 1 min and every now and then it trips itself out within 1gn and takes like 3min to adjust itself. It does seem to help if you have the unit in a heated room.
it's the American model by the way.

I don't have one but have read instructions on changing the programming to speed these units up. Google is your friend!

Do you have the right plug? Mine needed an adapter as US is 220v. Also search gear reviews on www.6mmbr.com re some at home mods. Jamming McDonalds straw up the feed tube makes it run smoother and less prone to over throws with large stick powders.

45 sec to a minute! I can throw a load with my lock n load benchrest thrower that is on or just under the money, trickle up while its on the scales if need be and have it in the case in 30 seconds. Surely it can be reprogrammed to make it quicker. The ones ive seen are faster than that for sure.

Trust me, McDonalds straw fixes over charges. Large extruded powder bunches up on the little ribs inside the feed tube and then dumps out a clump of powder when the tube blocks up. A straw allows the powder to slide and not clump up. I can throw 37.5g of 2208 in about 12-15 seconds no dramas.Seddo wrote:when doing 308's its usualy around the 40-50 second mark, 223's can come in around 30 seconds.

Hey chappo, do you think the straw actually makes the unit run quicker or does it just throw more accurately? Because it takes like 15 seconds to get to 24.5 and then it farts around for ages to get it to 25.0.

Straw will slightly increase speed but greatly increase accuracy. Try this link. There is a way to change the speed settings in the manual or on the web.alex1 wrote:chappo555 wrote:Trust me, McDonalds straw fixes over charges. Re: 1500 chargemaster
There have been some issues with power supplies not being up to scratch output wise, this may be the issue, mine is a 230valex1 wrote:just a quick one guys and girls.

10v output which came with an adaptor to plug into our powerpoints.
So far so good, fast enough around 20-25sec for 34.5gn charge of 2206H, by the time I empty the pan and put the bullet in it waiting for me! but as some have said, get the maccas straw and just put some tape around it to hold it in seems to really sort the over throw problem. Some also suggest taking the adaptor upto Jaycar or Dickhead smiths and seeing if they can give the equivalent for Australian use.
I haven't tweeked mine, quite happy with the way it performs sofar.
