R9 Inaccuracy Cured

While plugging away with the Macarri-ised R9 on the weekend I noticed some unusually poor accuracy (even for me). Further shots revealed that the the POI was most inconsistent, resulting in puzzling misses on targets and against the odd lucky feral mynah. I first checked the scope and all seemed fine, however couldn't resist a tinker with the elevation, but that did not solve the problem.
I then noticed both trigger guard retaining screws were quite loose. It was immediately out with the Pachmayr kit and and both screws were firmly tweaked up (but not over-tightened). Also checked both forearm screws and found them to be as firm as when received from Lewis over 18mths ago. Re-sighted in for a 30m zero, and all OK, problem solved....... TFE There is a lesson here fellow springer owners.
