They left the Czech Republic on June 17 th and just got here,,,,,,,, It looks the goods! ... It's called the JSB Monster ( Wizard of OZ might have been too close to a registered name) ...
I only shot four shots, one over the Chrony ... 875 fps for 43.2 fpe against a 28.5 gr Eunjin at 829 fps / 43.5 fpe and an 18.1 gr Exact at 990fps / 39.4 fpe from the JB OZ 1 Hornet at present settings. I can get Eunjin out at 850 fps so these Monsters should go close to 900 fos if I open the throttle.

The other three pellets shot at 28 yd/ 25 m made just one tiny hole exactly on the same zero point as 15.9 gr Exacts. So far I'm impressed: The target card is torn from the splash back off the lead plate that backs the target. A close look shows a true one holer for three shots. I'm excited to try them at longer range as soon as I can get to one...
I understand Lewis has asked Rob Potter to order some... Watch this space ... Kind regards, Harry.

Beauty Harry I can breathe again! Your first trial shots show promise of good things to come.
I think I will have to start annoying someone in Queensland soon.
Cheers Ray. 8)

They look very good. If someone gets some in, I'll have to try a few tins...

How is the precision of the pellets? Do they have any visible issues that would indicate quality control issues or similar?

Under a magnifier they appear as perfect as a pellet may be. I cannot as yet identify a "fingerprint" that would allow me to chamber them according to their manufacturing die orientation. The only other pellets that I have in that class are the 18.1 gr JSB Exact .22 and the .20 cal JSB Exact. Kodiaks/ Baracudas show a difference in the "seams" from the die on one side to the other. Eunjins have a tiny bead of lead on one point inside the bottom of the skirt cavity etc.

Unfortunately my grain scale balance is at the farm 530 Km away so I have not weighed them but my Mexican (no not Victorian) mate Hector says they are very good in the wt tolerance department.

My roll test shows them to have very good head to skirt circumference ratio.
Well we will see how the Monsters shoot at longer range when I can get to it ......... That will be the pudding's proof .. :hunting:

Kind regards, Harry.

Do you have a BC for them? and the 18.1 Exacts if you have that also please

I'd like to put them in Chairgun 2 and play arround with some figures.

Do you think with the right rifle these "monsters" could be got upto 990-1000 Fps range??

Have you test fitted them in the Excaliber magazine- any length issues/problems?

The only BC indication I have is from Hector Medina who thought it may be as high as 0.065. But from Hector's loose data I estimated 0.044. So, just conjecture yet. The factory does not release BCs and probably for the good reason that BCs vary from rifle to rifle for a whole raft of reasons.

I use a BC of (sea level) 0.032 for 18.1 gr Exact .22s in the BSA #1 and Excalibre.

The Monsters will fit the Excalibre magazine, they are just a tiny smidgen longer than Kodiaks, but a true round nose rather than tending towards slightly pointed like Kodiaks.

To do 990 to 1000 fps they would require a 56 fpe rifle. A rifle that shoots 16 gr pellets to 50 fpe would probably get 55 to 56 fpe with these Monsters.
However I am looking at staying around the 875 to 900 fps . At my farm altitude and 875 fps MV they still would have 26 fpe at 100 yd; 20 fpe at 150 yards and near 16 fpe at 200 yards -- ie., if the BC is in fact 0.044 or higher. I can't see any need for more thump than that..
But this is conjecture until I get a chance to do my tests.

Did you get my email? ....... Kind regards, Harry.

Wowzers if these babies aren't incentive enough to pick up a good powerful 22 pcp I don't know what is. 16fpe at 200yards  my r9 doesn't put that out at the muzzle!

Can't wait to see how they go up at the farm.

EMail -no
PM message on here
Yes I did- and your logic has only made me think more
and
go round and round in circles more and more- will PM you more about this when my head is a little clearer...........

I thought BC of 0.032 is the BC of the 15.9 Exacts ---- I used the BC of the .22 Kodiaks (0.0360) for the 18.1 Exacts - just so i had a number to do some "what if's" in chairgun2 with

Wouldn't the 18.1's have a higher BC than the lighter ones?

I was in error P. I wrote .032 sea level thinking that I use .036 at the farm. I just checked my sheets and it is .0357 (.036 to two places) that I have in Chairgun but when the programme runs for me that is converted for my altitude to 0.04 ... My apology for that. But again it is always best to do your own tests with your rifle as BC can be different for different rifles. However if one uses another's data and the trajectory curve seems to fit the tables then that is good.

Yes it was a PM message reply to yours. I used the term email generically
Kind regards, Harry.
