.25 cal BSA barrel for JB OZ ! has arrived !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

JB OZ 1B !! Installed yesterday and just shot a few Kodiak Match 30.7 gr pellets over a lie detector.

855 fps for a tad under 50 fpe. That is 10% up on the .22 28.5 gr Eunjins and 11 fps faster at the same hammer setting before I removed the .22 barrel.

The barrel is a tad longer 1/10th inch maybe, so the gain in fpe and fps is due to the increase in bore.

I leave in about ten minutes for the mountains for 4 days so may have some results to report late next week. I'm quite excited to see what the comparison will be.

The JSB .22 Extra heavy Wizard test pellets still have not come.
The .25 barrel will have to come back off when they arrive; then go back on later in the year to test the JSB .25s when they are ready....

Much to look forward to.
I won't be responding until I return ... Take care over this long weekend ..... :D .. Kind regards, Harry.

One only 75 yard group and three run -of -the -mill 50 yards 5 shot groups. Shot with 30+ gr Kodiaks at 49 fpe around 848 fps.

Looks like the BSA Hornet JB OZ 1 likes its .25 cal barrel.

I'm not sure these Kodiaks will be a great longer range pellet in much wind, but will reserve judgment for when I get a good opportunity. I will patiently await the JSB .25s.

Meanwhile the word is that a sample of the Extra heavy JSB .22s is now on its way as of last Friday. I hope the little parcel is well wrapped. For those who are interested and have a PCP that will shoot to higher power values ( some of the Rapids may ) the test pellets nominal weight is 25.4 gr. My big Hornet should get them out at 875 and possibly a bit higher, which is spot on the best MV I think maybe.

Kind regards to all the good guys ......... Yrrah.

I do strange things P. I think you will get the idea from this pic.

However for the last batch I only used the gold colored reamer and took one grain out of the tail of skirt making them 29.7 gr.

I'm not finished with them yet and will let you know if it has any merit with these pellets ........ Kind regards, Harry.

I just want to know how you ream them out without crushing them. im heavy handed at the best of times and end up denting most of my pellets trying to get them out of the tin, let alone triming the skirt.

I did it by hand and eye. If the modification proves to be of any advantage over more than just a few targets I will outline my current process with pics. Obviously this takes time but I've got it down to about 10 seconds plus weighing time now - using just the gold coloured 90 degree reamer.... Kind regards, Harry.
