Hawke scope

Post by Whitey »

Took Lewis's advice and got onto Potter's and ordered a Hawke Airmax 4-12 x 40AO. Arrived this morning. Put it on my BSA Hornet. I had a Simmons on the Hornet but I moved it to a new home on my Savage .17HMR where it is excellant. The Hawke looks great on the Hornet, afterall looks are important. The glass is clear and the focus good. The adjustments on the AO, the power and the eyepiece focus are firm but I am sure that is due to newness. The up down adjustment has an exposed finger adjustment turret which is good for quick access for field adjustment. I have sent for the Map6 download which should be good for trajectory with the dots. The clicks feel solid with a definite click. The finish looks good but time will tell. For $180 delivered I think it will be good value. The English sites all seem to have good things to say about them. All my rifles have Simmons scopes but I am always willing to try things like the Hawke scopes. I have a BSA Airsporter Mk 7 that needs a scope so I think I will be calling Potter's again for another. Now too see how it shoots.....
