Re: And where do Dianas fit in?
Hi Foz,
Dianas have their fans. And (to the best of my knowledge) Gecado is the same stuff rebadged. I understand one of their target triggers (model 75?) was very good, but was the mechanical equivilent of a rubics cube to work on, and a bit unpopular for that reason in some areas. Apart from that, I don't know that much about them, except that the model 35 seems well regarded. I'll let others who have the experience expand on these thoughts. What I will say, however, is the Gecado model 50 is one of the best classic looking air rifles I've seen.
The site below is the main one I know of for Diana fans.

Diana are sold as RWS in the US - the US RWS 54 (and some others) were actually made in Spain.
The bigger Dianas like the 34/36, 350 and 52 have a decent reputation.

Dianas are medium grade spring guns. I love my Diana 34 .177.
The ones you mentioned (except some of the Theobens) are all pcp.

Fritz- That is not entirely true.!!
The HW-35,50,77,80,90,97 are all springers/gas spring & the R series are all springers/gas spring.

O sorry native, I missed those.
I just really noticed Theoben and FX.
Dianas are still a bit below HW and R series, but if you can't shell out the loot for one of those, a Diana is the best you can get.

Hmmmm. Seems that there are quite a few quality levels within all the manufacturers as I expected. It it great to be able to shuffle them into my scone in a seemingly ordered way. Research is good eh?
