LONG RANGE bunny sniping ... a special near perfect day.

Post by Yrrah »

Some still think that a .22 rimfire runs out of steam at 75 yards. Well Hello!! Here is what just 37 fpe at the muzzle and 10.5 fpe at the stated distances can and does do. There has been a LOT of homework done though.
You might like to open this reference ( left click on it ) to read what turns me on when the conditions are perfect. The air was dead all day and at sundown it was perfect:

Quote in the text ....."140 yd zero is -3 clicks from 142 yd at MV 1025 with JSB Exacts; terminal energy is 10.5 fpe according to Chairgun using my figures for BC with this JB OZ 1 BSA Hornet set up by John Bowkett the designer. (It has an extra long barrel and an extension to the reservoir- see pic above. Nice walnut too happy.gif ) ....." ... JB OZ 1 is the serial # that John Bowkett chose to stamp on it.

As indicated it is a modified PCP BSA Hornet .22. It has a 23" barrel and a special regulator which allows for a higher fill pressure and more shots. ...... Kind regards, Harry.
