Some may recall that I have been fiddling with these pellets some of which I had sent in from Tim Mac-1 in the USA when he had a discount lead sale in May.

My JB OZ 1 BSA Hornet is shooting them at 850 fps for 45.7 fpe presently.
We have just had two weeks at the farm. The wind blew, it rained and we even had some snow. Not pleasant, and morning temperatures as low as minus 7 d C. I cut a lot of wood and the fire burned constantly. Melbournians know the feeling. Anyway I did get in one good session when there was a lull in the weather.

This is one of three targets shot in a session with these heavy pellets. They were sized down to 0.2190" ( 5.56 mm ) and indexed into the chamber according to the " die's fingerprint" to ensure that any discrepancy in balance from the swaging process would allow for them to leave the muzzle all with the same orientation.

You might recall this target shot at only 790 fps ( 39.5 fpe ) some time ago with these pellets for which I had trimmed the skirts to ensure they were even: Note the black Texta spots on the skirts for indexing.

Perhaps Lewis might consider importing a few directly from Korea for those with 30 + fpe .22 rifles to try. .... Kind regards, Harry.

They seem like nice pellets, but you know I'm into springers, do you think those are too heavy for a Benji SS?

Yes, too heavy unless your range is quite short. They were designed for the very powerful Korean rifles. Shot at much less than say 28 fpe the trajectory would be a rainbow for a 50 metre range. .........
Furthermore, unlike PCPs and pumpers, springers lose efficiency with heavier pellets. Bigtime! PCPs gain efficiency and pick up KE with heavier pellets. As an example, presently ( I keep changing it ) my BSA JB OZ 1 Hornet shoots 15.9 gr JSB Exacts at 37 fpe and the Korean Eun JIns of 28.5 gr at 43 fpe. The trend is reversed with springers and gas strut powered rifles like the Crow Magnum / Theoben ..........

Kind regards, Harry.

A springer would HATE those pellets, pretty much no matter the power. Long springs made of lightish wire and heavy pellets don't mix, if you want your spring to last.

The gas strut "springer" I had ( wonderful rifle ) Beeman Crow Magnum 111 dropped from around 27 fpe with 14.3 gr CPs to 18 - fpe with a 22 gr experimental pellet. Eun Jin .20s are about that weight........... Kind regards, Harry.
