JSB Pellet Test

Lewis was kind enough to send me down some JSB Pellets to test in the FWB 600 he serviced recently.
The weather has been against me so far from very humid with water condensation clouds coming out of the barrel stopping testing and then snow falls not far away making it umm pretty cold to shoot.
What I have picked up so far.
The JSB pellets seem to be softer than the RWS pellets I have been using and they are easily marked by a finger nail for example.
So close attention to the pellets being used is now a must as I had several shots out of the groups that could not be explained until I noticed this[a shot out is less than a bullet hole from the rest of the shots in the group].
This is not to say that the JSB pellets are not shooting fantastic, just that closer attention to detail as always means more consistant groups.
The last trip to the range I tried the Lighter Pistol JSB pellet 7.2 grains ,the Heavier pellet JSB 7.8 grains and the RWS 7 grainer[I weighed these pellets on my RCBS 10/10 scales]
I fired eleven 5 shot groups altogether with the 3 different pellets and with all shots and groups included it averaged .094 inches.
Both the JSB's are at .080 avg for the groups they have fired.I am really impressed.
Here are some examples of the groups fired so far which seem to happen easily with this rifle now and the quality pellets Lewis has sent down. All groups are 5 shots each and were fired from a benchrest at 10 Metres indoors
RWS 7
JSB 7.2 Pistol
JSB 7.8
When I get some more time I have some other details I am working on but will confirm with further testing.
Thankyou Lewis for the great opportunity to test the JSB's and taking the time and effort to send them down,
Keep smiling,
Charlie Murray
