New Gun Day
Well it was New Gun Day and grinning from ear to ear.
Ordered this FX Maverick VP 22 back in January and delivery was to be in June. So a bit of a shock to get a call in late April that it was at the gun shop.
Fitted a bipod and my old Nikon EFR 3-9x40. Grabbed all the odd tins of pellets I have in the cupboard and loaded it up. It even came with free air , had about 180BAR of air and second reg was at 100BAR. That target the odd shots were me adjusting the scope. The top left was the first group (shots 7-12) at 25m, 5 shots JSB 18gn. Right target I think has eight shots. This is as delivered, no tuning.
So I tried a few different pellets and most shot very well. Filled the tank from a new Vevor compressor, 100 to 230 BAR in 1:40 min. and then fired 118 pellets to get back to 100BAR.
Will be interesting to see velocity tomorrow when I get the chrono out. The scope looks high because the cheek piece is high.
Very impressed. Completely different style of rifle to my usual wood and blue but really like it.

Wow , what more can one say. Out with the walnut & in with the tactical.
Those groups showing promise Bruce & probably bad news in particular for rabbits & foxes once you get it all sorted.

Very nice Bruce. That’s a very health shot count as well.
Looking forward to seeing some quarry on the ground.

Sunday night.
Been saving this rabbit who lives in the garden.
25m
H&N Barracuda Match 21gn
940fps
Definitely enough power. Head shot, then hit the shed 20m behind. Woops
Ther is two more around the garden.
