Done some further work on the pole mount targets today. Getting pretty close to a workable idiot proof solution thats quick to set up and take down. Pole length to be adjusted based on the placement on the range.

I do recognize that "idiot proof" is considered a challenge for some people to prove me wrong

Ok first prototype is installed.

Fixed ground position with the correct height so that it looks like it is sitting on the wall even though it is far behind it. No metal visible!

Perfect James! Do the lids lock on eg mower can go over and not suck them up?

Also with a length of pipe they can be screwed out. Be good for temp installs or changing up some targets else where.

There are 2 holes in the top of the screw that you slide a bar through to use as a handle to wind them into the ground. There is a small bolt on the side that holds the hinge part of the cap. Pretty easy to put in and an occasional check with a level to make sure its square. They're galvanised and easy to pull out if you change your mind (I had to do this as the initial hole was in the wrong place). Thanks for the tip on the ground screws.

I'm working in the background to get it going in Vic in spite of our SSAA branch.

You have far too much time on your hands JD.

Impressive James !!!

Thank You for all your hard work in planning, trialling, and organising all this.

I guess you deserve to be the only one that knows the PRECISE distance of each target from the firing line ..........

I'm purposely not doing that :) Just making sure they're in line with the firing point and that each one is at a different range to the others.
