I don't get to shoot the air rifles much anymore, too busy foxing with the small centrefires.

It was such a lovely evening I thought I'd give them a blast.

55 yards, 10 shot groups.

Not exceptional I know, but gee it was good fun.

Rifles are, (L-R) BSA scorpion, BSA R10, Ripley Rifles XL9.

.22 cal, JSB Exact jumbo heavy.

Just tap on the pic for a better look.

Pics are re-sized using Pic Stich.

Out of the three, which would you pick if you could only have one?

The Ripley is in another league, bespoke with a waiting list as long as your arm, a rifle with the best 2 stage trigger I have ever used. The action is like a hot knife through butter.

For practicallity, has to be the R10, lighter, shorter and more pointable.

I shoot the Ripper off the bench or sticks so it's no real drama.

I have an R10 in .177, it shoots superb with JSB Exacts.

I only shoot groups with it late evening or early morning when there's no wind.

If you find the trigger on the Scorpion has some creep ( which mine did ), i recommend you look at a video by Darrin who runs XTX air.

I followed his instructional video on mine and its made a world of difference.

Gave my Scorpion a really good work out today
Dam it shoots nice
Average group size over 35m was 10 to 12mm
Best was 8 out of 10 shots in the red dot on a 6in target, other 2 just touching it.
Thanks for the advice Matt

Actually like the standard trigger better than both my Wineracks.
This is my first PCP so dont know what better is yet.
