Hi guys,
Over in NZ at the moment doing some FT shooting with the Auckland FT club. Great bunch of people sith great skills. ( try ahooting in a 15 knot breeze). Lots of freely available gear here with no FAL for springers and air pistols and basic licence for PCPs. Also lots of legally available screw on barrel attachments to stop you annoying the neighbours. Fun times.

Nice pics. As a person who has never sen a FT match, can you elaborate on what rifles people are using? None of the stocks in those pics look like they come from the factory.

The rifles are up market pcps and spring air rifles.
popular for field target enthusiasts but around $2000 for a "puny" air rifle, they remain a specialist item and not popular with the general hunting fraternity. Some of the British guns (eg the Air Arms one on the table) cone standard with a fancy stock. The rest are made up custom by local craftsmen.

Hi Seddo.
I'm trying to get it up and running in Vic. The owner of the paint ball facility in Rawson is extremely interested. He's already bought two PCPs and we haven't even got off the ground. It will happen around the corner from you soon. Fingers crossed. :P

That would be interesting.

I would need to get my head around spending that much on an air rifle. I've wanted an FX Royale 400 Walnut for a while now, the issue has always been giving Herman the money.

I think the Royale is the pick of the bunch. I picked up the Gen 1 Royale a couple of months ago. No power adjustment but we have the technology to change that and LW barrel. Shoots like stink. The smooth twist barrel versions aren't to shabby either.

I'll PM before I come down your way next and you can have a crash course on ARs.

There are others on the market that are also worth considering. Depends what you want (need  ) it for.

You don't have to bring NEED into it, that something the wife would say. Want is good enough for me.

I saw a few vids on the Air Arms rifles and they looked very cool too.

The Australian Distributor of Air Arms doesn't import the FTP900, they quoted customs reg's as the reason they dont which is funny as they look no different to some of the 22lr benchrest rifles.

There's lots of things the AA importer doesn't brìng in from AA UK. I've had email correspondences from the AA MD with regards to our situation in Oz. I rather not post it here on the forum.

Lets say it is a four mugs of coffee discussion and best done when I'm in Traralgon next.
