Plinking tiny gongs
Bought some of Matts tiny gongs for the AR. Made some stands and put them around the garden yesterday between rain showers. Will use the portable ones on the lawn and paddock
Nice being able to sit on the verandah out of the sun/rain and do some plinking.
Get in touch with Matt to get some tiny gongs for yourself.

Paint them up with NO TRESPASSING signage and locate them around the property. Make sure the gongs have a least one decent hole in them. That should keep unwanted visitors away.

Re: Plinking tiny gongs
Or then there's the cheapskate option..... I have a set of tiny AR swingers out in the shed. I made them out of teaspoons and desert spoons. Ten cents each from the Salvos for the spoons.
I just got a couple of cheap sash clamps and drilled the end with a 6mm hole.
Then I got a 6mm bolt 100mm long, slid on a 6mm washer, bent the spoon handle to wrap around the bolt, slid it on, slid on a piece of copper pipe about 70mm long, screwed on the nut about 10mm, put the bolt through the 6mm hole in the clamp and locked up another nut on the other side. Clamp it onto whatever you like.....
Use threaded rod and you could put 2 side by side on the one clamp. Fully portable.

Re: Plinking tiny gongs
Ryan, 18 targets(10 large, 5 med, 3 small) were $58 delivered. That was my choice of sizes, the 12mm at 20m is a challenge or just luckstinkitup wrote:Nice bit of gardening Bruce. Love the footings

They are very neatly cut and take a 6mm bolt. Just need to put in a vise and twist 90 degrees.
Send Matt975 a Pm for a price.
Gary, thanks for the idea.

Curan, good idea. Might get some and hang them from the fence wire. Ever punch a hole in one?

Re: Plinking tiny gongs
No, although you can see by the photo that the desert spoon has had a fair old workout. The tea spoon is showing very little wear and tear. Careful selection at the Salvos can get some quite thick spoons.....B4408 wrote:.........Curan, good idea. Might get some and hang them from the fence wire. Ever punch a hole in one?..........

Very very nice Curan... except I would need to find some serving spoons me thinks lol. Look like a good shape to manage deflections as well.

Re: Plinking tiny gongs
I think you'd find a soup spoon at 15m pretty easy Ryan. Scale it out, and I reckon it would be about a 5 ring for the 10m target at the paper match. And the teaspoon is only slightly bigger than the chickens we shoot at 20 yards for the air rifle silhouette match..... which is why I made the teaspoon one. The desert spoon goes out at turkey distance.stinkitup wrote:Very very nice Curan... except I would need to find some serving spoons me thinks lol.
