Was told about one that sounds like a good price - are they a good option for a first air rifle for the kids and for plinking cans etc? Sounds like they have adjustable triggers.

There were actually two there a couple of days ago; Mark II and Mark VII.

If it's the same Andy on another Forum then they would have been well looked after. They shoot OK but I don't think they're anything super special. The pellet loading tap would drive you crazy and that also makes cleaning the bore (when needed) a PITA. I have a Mark IV atm and I'd rather use my HWs anyday. Parts are still obtainable from several outlets overseas and there is expertise on this forum to assist if you decide to buy one and service it yourself. They are an adult size rifle but cocking effort is mild so may be kids friendly enough.

For just a bit more coin and for kids, I'd be looking at the Walter Terrus and the Weihrauchs (HW 30 or 50). Even the Crosman 1077 CO2 if you want to head down the medium pressure route. The guys will tell you I'm just a BIT biased towards the German Engineering when it comes to springers. I've played with the above three springers and I loved them as an 'over sized kid'.

BSA Supersports are very good, simple break barrel air rifles. They still make them today, the trigger is pretty simple, barrel's are awesome.

Hey Matt, are they junior shooter friendly?

They aren't a big gun, export versions could do 18 fpe so may be hard to cock.
