Learned my first lesson in airgun hunting this arvo, walked down to the dam in the light drizzle only 100 yds from the house but its got a few scrubby spots around it so i sat down back against a big iorn bark tree lowered the bream of my hat and started to whistle well within 20 saconds out of the corner of my eye comes this fox bolting through the grass down behind the dam he goes.i give the whistle a break for a few seconds and nothing ,raise the rifle ready to go .begin blowing and over he comes full pelt at me 50yds 30yds 20yds i call out HAY 10yds ,4yds i lower the gun and HAY again thinking hes gonna eat me .He hangs a hard left but a quick blow and he stops at 20 odd yds ,bang or pwet which ever you prefer with an air gun and i hit him between the eyes and a little to the right,he went down like a sack of spuds but 2 seconds later he was up and im watching him sail over the hill so my smile didnt last long.how many of you have shot foxes with an air gun where exactly does the pellet need to go... Im thinking it was the little to the right that hurt me..
