First airgun in 30 years and i bought one

Righto ive sent the permit off and am going to bite the bullet and grab an air gun,ive had no experiance with them since i sold the bsa air sporter 30 years ago.Ive shot Hornet boys and was more than impressed,i want something that is capable of taken game up to as far as they can,money is no real problem but i dont want to spend more than say 2 grand so what do you recommend.

Used guns are advertising an almost new MK1 Rapid .22 with Simmons scope $1600.00. Pretty good price.

Thanks fellas,what are they worth new the theoben rapid,and what else do i need in the way of tanks etc...

Potters have got New Rapids at around $2200.00 with a 12 shot mag check them out you might get a surprise on a deal.
Best way to go for air is a scuba Tank. A 232 bar tank with a K valve would be the cheapest 2nd hand deal from your local dive club or the local dive shop.
Unless you are very fit don,t go near a pump.

I think Potter's still have them on special.
I know that price is hot!!

Hey mistit I just noticed There is a scuba tank ideal for your setup in our For Sale section. Check it out,
Take the tip from Lewis and give potters a ring. go for the scuba in the F/S page and you are done.

13/12/ 11 this was $ 1730 with fill adapter and shipping not including scope. From Potters.
It shoots JSBs well 22cal

Thanks Honetboy,is that like an elite athlete like a champion benchrest shooter, always wanted to be one of those or just your normal kind of elite,cause i dont no if i want to start intense training you no 6 km run 200 sit ups all that kind of thing

No, though we all could do with some exercise. It's "elite"in that you get to hang out with all the other good blokes on here.I haven't met anyone I don't like here yet, and I don't reckon you will either.The only reason big-game hunters brag about their safaris is because they've never been ratshooting! This has to be one of the most addictive forms of shooting there is, and the most fun! Cheers, mate.

bought a second hand air arms s410,10 shot mag,minox 4-20x50 scope plus a brand new 12 litre air tank with all the fittings and a packet of slugs 1400 drive away,got straight home 1st group at 21 mtrs 1/4 inch ,2nd group at 30 mtrs another 1/4 inch ,took the target out to 47 mtrs 1/2 inch to say im stoked is an under statement,the 1st victim has already fallen to a head shot at 30 mtrs,oh hang on got to go theres a few starlings just landed where they shouldnt have....

Way to go Mist! That sounds like a good complete set buy to me. Aint nuthin' wrong with a good Airarms, especially when its shooting the way it does.
