Lewis,
Ever come across a Jelly .177 made in Belgium I think? It's a small break barrel and appears to be well made. Not unlike a HW25L.
Anyone else?

Reckon so Brendan. It's a Telly made in Hungary. Also jnown as a Relum in the UK,Precise Minuteman in the USA and a Mauser in others.
Pretty horrible inside with two springs, one inner and one outer that crunch together during cocking.I ditch both and replace with a single Meteor or Airsporter one depending on the model.I also use a spring guide to quieten it down.
They can shoot OK and have a nice trigger.

Hi Whitey,
I first learnt to shoot with one of these as a kid, and got to shoot one again only about six months ago. The one I shot recently definitely didn't have the kick of the one that I shot as a kid. I reckon it was probably pretty tired, as it didn't take much to cock it.
The one I had as a kid would put a .177 wasp through corrogated iron (the old thick stuff) at 10 feet, and a well placed diablo would take pigeons at about 15-20m. It also used to dispatch a lot of mice around my father's grain enclosure. But I remember as a 15 year old that it took a fair bit to cock it, so the spring probably had more grunt on that one back then. Come to think of it, as a 15 year old, I probably had more grunt too!
It was a nice little rifle to shoot.
Good luck with it.
regards, curan

They were a fairly common boy's gun in my formative years. And yes, often called a "Jelly."
It made for interesting hunt reports at school - "I shot five birds with my Jelly last night." and so on...

Thanks for the informative reply's guys. Jelly, fairdinkum Telly sounds more credible. Should have had my glasses on when I looked at it.
The small size is what attracted me. I think it would be a good size for my boys with maybe a tad off the butt. There isn't much available in that size, off any quality. I was about to order a HW25L from the US, but this might do the trick. Anyone have a HW25L they want to sell?

Don't feel bad, I'm pretty sure the medallion on the stock actually had a "T" that looked like a "J". It is common to call them Telly or Jelly.
cheers, curan
