Here is some reading for Dennis and others interested. It is all first hand from my personal research with my BSA Hornet with a .25 barrel installed and the rifle having been set up by its developer/ designer John Bowkett in UK: ........ Please read at leisure as there is a lot of material, all original. It only represents a small % of the total done so far.

These are more or less in chronological order beginning in 2009 :

My "Yrrah Roll Test" developed over the years for batching pellets in three ways. Head sizing with calipers or micrometers cannot discriminate as accurately as this method (does).

So Dennis and all, that is just some of the research results I have from the last couple of years since starting to shoot the .25 cal and is exclusive to the PCP John Bowkett BSA Hornet shooting at 44 to 48 fpe depending upon pellet wt. I normally shoot 25.4 gr JSB Kings at around 890 fps .

There are currently 4 pellets in .25 that I would use depending upon objective. JSB Kings 25.4 gr; JSB Predator Polymags of 26 gr; H&N Baracuda/ Beeman Kodiaks 31+ gr; Benjamin (Crosman) in the 27 gr class.

Hope you get something from this summary beyond a late night's reading ........ Kind regards, Harry.
