Needs a little explanation. ... I had to adjust camera and scope, from earlier full flight video, in order to pick up the pellets in flight at the range of 158 yards but it worked. ... (Why 158 yards? Well I had just made a one shot centre mass kill on a cow pat splaaaat so moved the old plough disc to there).

Three shots at 158 yards. Watch for the pellets appearing at the top of the pic and just left of the vertical reticule bar and you will be able to track them down to points of impact. ... Now, after you note the gun jump count to six and watch for the pellets ( count 0..1..2..3..4..5..6 ). You will see them sparkling like a little fireflies, as they pass through dappled sunlight and shade, descending from a little beyond the trajectory apex (2 ft high at 88 yards) over the last 50 or so yards of their flight to 158 yards. .... Not a bad three shot group of approx 1.5 inches.
You may have to wait a few seconds for the video to begin. Taken at 420 frames per sec for slow motion.

Shot with a BSA Hornet blueprinted by John Bowkett shooting .22 JSB Exacts at 28 fpe and still with 10 fpe at point of impact. The rifle sight was zeroed for the range from my Dave Eades' variation of Chairgun hence the 2 ft trajectory apex.

Great to watch. You are getting this filming down to Spielberg like. I love watching a pellet flying towards a rabbit and you know before the hit that it is cactus.

I believe a PCP has a peak recoil of somewhere around 14 G's. This compares to around 130 G's for a similarly weighted .22 rimfire cartridge.

Not very much by comparison...

The apparent movement, in the video, is exaggerated because the bracket and camera respond to the rifle's recoil by oscillating for an instant after the rifle has fired. The length of time is really about 1/14 th of the apparent shake time because the motion is slowed about 14 times at 420 frames per second. ... But yes, as I have often written, PCPs too must be held consistently during shot time with excellent follow through at trigger release.

The vibration I understood but Lewis seems to be correct. Immediately after firing, there's a slight upward movement before the oscillation sets in. It's very short - given the frame rate probably on the milliseconds level.

A brilliant video - expertly set up and nicely taken. The accuracy of the shooting is equally impressive also.

Yes that would be the rifle reaction. ......... Now, most videos I have watched on my computer have hesitations, stops and starts. Some few don't. T have a wireless pick-up. Is it the way the signal is packaged? Is there anything that can help for a smooth continuous delivery? .. Anyone? ... KR, Harry.

Click pause and wait for the video to buffer. Only a very small number of videos don't buffer, most others will spool in the buffer and when you click play again, it's smooth.

You can also download the free version of real-player which lets you save the video to your HD so you can download and then watch back at your leisure.
