If you could, What CAN you fill a PCP with other than air?
Re: If you could, What CAN you fill a PCP with other than air?
You breath pure helium and you will be dead, sorry to be blunt, but a little knowledge is where things can go pear shaped pdq.

Oxygen is a highly dangerous gas, especially in pure form, simply because of its ability to increase rapid combustion and to assist generally plain materials, such as grease and oil to combust with no source of ignition, so its DEFIANTLY NOT something that should be used for Air Guns..
Helium is used to displace the Oxygen and Nitrogen in High Pressure situations in Open Circuit suits (SCUBA AND SCBA) because it can displace the oxygen which at high pressures too much will enter the bloodstream which is dangerous.. Nitrogen is not used due to it causing nitrogen drunkness (narcosis) and also adds more danger to in the case of rapid decompression.. The only problem with helium is well, we all know what happens when you suck on helium!!!
As for Helium in Guns? I dunno?

Nitrogen is fine. Performance fractionally better but very little . Helium is fine and will boost performance a lot being much lighter and so faster flowing. Down sides; uses a lot more because of the above and so - many fewer shots and is expensive. CO2 has a big problem in cold weather and its only good for lower velocities. ... Dry air is cheap and best.
Kind regards, Harry.

sorry to be blunt divers breath Trimix (breathing gas)stillair1 wrote:You breath pure helium and you will be dead, sorry to be blunt, but a little knowledge is where things can go pear shaped pdq.
when diving at depths 130m, besides i never said pure helium, you did!

Not having a pop at you Marco. and I know you meant Trimix, But these gas things are like chinese wispers, by the time a mates has said a mate saw it on the only gets half the pic you can see where I'm coming from.Marco wrote:guys how about helium and humans can also breath it underwater
its also safe for balloons and KIDS and easlly available from BOC gases.
