The hw100 does not have a true reg fitted as std, but has a regulating type valve system iirc. BT in the uk fits true regs to these which entails a lot of bits to be changed internally as well as fitting the reg.
A .177 pcp will always give fewer shots than a .22 for the same ftlb. Power quotes are about as much use as a chocolate watch if you can't find an accurate pellet for your barrel.
In .177 I would try barracuda, heavy prems, and jsb. Things to watch out for are lead fouling as you wind up to exotic fps which is required to get the best out of .177.
I use both .177 24ftlb and .22 33ftlb rapids and both work well at fac levels.

Well I do have the HW100 in 22cal. I heard and read all the negative talk about them but after trying a few PCPs I knew it was the one for me.The gun has been faultless with great accuracy, sweet trigger,& the magazine & the side lever loading which most of the others are following is surperb.
The only thing I didn't like was the shape of the trigger so I bought a rowan setback trigger,

I also replaced the front stock screw with a QD stud for a bipod.
My tank is a 12ltr ex rental from the dive shop I picked up for $200 it was all scratched up so I had it resprayed.

If the one you are looking at is new thats are very good price.
Is it a thumhole or a sporter stock?
Good luck and lets us know what you decide.
