Here's my field target and metallic silhouette gun.
Air Arms RN10 .177 with titanium conversion and power boost to 18fpe. Bushnell 4200 8-32X
Two consecutive 5 shot groups at 51m off the bags in a shooting tunnel. 0.281" and 0.343" ctc, the rules is in 32nd of an inch. Out shoots my old CZ452 rimfire at 50m.
My old pistol. Mac1 LD .22 CO2 pistol. Ok, but too expensive. Never really bonded with this one and could never really shoot it that great either.
Current silhouette pistol. Beeman P17 .177 single stroke pneumatic with red dot. 10% the cost of the above pistol, exact same silhouette performance (except in a howling gale) and much easier to shoot accurately.
My first quality air rifle and first PCP. BSA Hornet .22 with Simmons 44mag. And what an introduction to air rifles it was. I was one of the first to buy these when they came into Australia. Amid comments of "it'll be cheaply made" (it was $750 brand new), and unreliable, this old girl never missed a beat and shot like a house on fire. I've seen many other PCP's break down but the Hornet just kept spitting them out. Crows at 90 yards, rats, starlings, rabbits, silhouettes you name it. I had a lot of fun with this rifle and spent some very enjoyable time behind it on the range and in the field. Seems people came around to these rifles and just how accurate they are. I miss the power of this rifle and shooting .22 cal. Dont really like the girly .177 cal but it's a necessity for FT. Kind of wish I still had it.
