AirGun Friendly Competition

Post by stinkitup »

Well Stewiemc has got his Ausvarmint comp up and running.

I found this as a good alternative and should be easy enough for most airgunners to do, its each week and will be good to hone your skills. Has a novice and maksman sections so I will give the novice section a go :)

Looks like fun

If we want to run something more like field target I have the following targets

small bird
large bird (crow)
rat
snake
number of rabbits
etc

I can probably get these up online in a central place but my time is rather constrained lately.

Yeah not sure whats going on there with the scores, was having a think last night and this morning, how about something similar. Like Fortnightly Challenge, varying targets each fortnight, targets will be online, 10 meters and 3 position, offhand, sitting (no support no extra support) and off bench, no benchrests but shirts, jackets, sleeping bags etc, butt supported by shooter only. These could be class's so if you can physically only shoot from one or two positions we could have a winner for each plus a winner for the overall as well?
At least 50 shots each competition fortnight maybe more like 60??

Target Ideas

Bullseyes
Flys
Mice
Rats
Rabbits Small Bird
Large Bird
Silhouette Based (Rams, Pigs, Chickens etc)

The Idea is for fun friendly competition for the AV people (and anyone else that stumbles across it) which also helps our shooting skills.

Results posted on AV and on the web elsewhere etc (Should be able to host this on my isp's provided web space)

Hows that sound?

Good one guys! The two target types(Novice and Marksman) at 10 metres are quite ok for the shoot IMHO.
Lay out the way you want to shoot and score this comp(E.G. number of shots per target and scoring method) so the dumb ones like me can follow the plot, and lets give it a whack.
Good shooting to all.
Ray.

is there a caliber restriction?

seems that if the hole isn't completely inside the scoring ring you get the lower value- disadvantange for those using bigger calibers

SO Plain Jain bulls like the link above or would you like something of our own? Have had a think over the weekend and have some ideas for different targets etc each fortnight, no restrictions on caliber and a hit would be a hit ogre. Emphasis on fun! Will see if I can put together something by the end of the week, I have some ideas for different targets and the emphasis won't be on super small groups etc but challenging none the less :D and of course the more :auto: the better :D

Sorry! Been rather busy, however I have got permission from the site at the top to use his targets, he said the "weird" results were just people stuffing around with the site and putting rubbish in :(

So anyway how about we run them in this section, I'll try and start a new post, was going to make it fortnightly but we could do it weekly.

And I have some ideas on Novelty shoots say one week a month just to spice it up a little.
