Do you have access to a scuba shop, If you do, get a scuba attachment and never worry about having to pump the rifle tank up.
Pretty sure lewis does not sell scuba tanks but has the attachments.

Hi tikka,
Just for price comparison of SCUBA tanks. Down here in SA a good used 232 Bar tank can cost between $280 to $360 dependent on Cylinder capacity. The average cost of air fills here is between $7 & $10.00 on cylinder capacity. An FX T 12 would get around 30 fills @ 220 bar (180cc tank) I think from a 12 litre 232 Bar cylinder.
To buy a pump will cost around $350 I think, so if you like to work out get one if not go for a scuba tank.

scuba tanks cna be got on on egay quite reasonably

as long as the tank is " in test" it should be fine

you are at a bit of the wrong end of the season for looking for a s/h tank as a lot more people are diving over summer than winter

send me a pm and I'll give you an email of a mate who runs a dive shop in QLD

another thing to consider is getting a 300 BAR tank for not much more $$ sometimes none

a 10 litre 232 bar is = 2320 litres of air capacity
10 litre 300 bar is 3000 litres capacity

more fills for the same cost

your local dive shop has to have the equipment to be able to fill to 300 bar but- some older shops dont

the 300 BAR fill adaptor for the air rifle is a little different but shouldn't be much more expensive if at all from Lewis

the cost of fills doesn't seem to change if you get a 232 or a 300 BAR round here so I'd go te 300 BAR first up and maybe pay 10% more initial cost but recover it in much longer fill intervals

later
P

will write more later if you want about tanks- babbysitting ATM

Mate

I have not to long ago bought a FX Storm from Lewis. Its a great little air rifle, heaps of guts.

Now, I opted for the hand pump, and I must say, it isnt to bad. I pump the rifle back up when I get down to around the 140-160bar, and its very easy and quick. Maybe only 3-4 minutes to pump back to 200bar at most!

Totally agree, the FX pumps are high quality & very user friendly. I was pretty happy with the exercise it offered too, but as I already had a scuba tank and being inherently lazy I now fill from scuba.
