Fx Royale 400 .22

Guys I brought my first air rifle which happens to be a Royale .22 a few months back now and besides busting bunnies Ive only ever had it at the range only once and that was to sight it in.
The other night I got to have a good play with it at the range at 50m and boy did it shoot Wasnt I happy!!!
But... First shots I put thru it were low and over the 12 shots It claimed back up to POI.
All shots were in a string up and down. So why would this be the case? but after 12 shots it was fine and drilling dots.
