FX Elite smooth twist barrel videos with different pellets .

All shot at 51 yards, 3 shots each pellet on silhouettes size scaled for 50 yard. All shot in a light left to right breeze; note the aim-off.

.25 calibre, single direct to the barrel loading FX Elite with Smooth Twist FX barrel shot at approx 48 to 50 fpe depending on pellet weight.. Left click each to show.

Three 25.4 gr JSB Kings; clean flight with no apparent precession.

Three 26 gr Predator Polymags; clean flight no apparent precession.

Three Beeman Crow Magnums /// 26 gr ?: Precession and spiral flight noted.

Benjamin 27.8 gr .25s (Crosman made); Slight precession in shot # 2 but no apparent spiraling.

Old 30.5 gr Kodiak / Barracudas shot similarly to the Benjamins but I seem to have lost or deleted the video for them
.
So it seems that in good conditions the JSBs (best), JSB Polymag Predators, Benjamins and Baracudas shoot well to this range. I had no illusions for the Crow Magnums past 25 yards. See post further down for 50 and 100 yards comparison to the legendary BSA .25!

You may have noticed that mine are the only "through-the-scope" videos around that show pellets' flights from just in front of the rifle all the way to distant targets.

5 JSB Kings shot from the FX Elite into a very small 71 yards group covered by a US dime of 0.70" diameter which makes the group under 1/2" ctc at 71 yards. Look carefully and at impact you will see the cloud of paint and probably some vaporized lead dust.

A pic of the 71 yard group. It was aimed at a previous pellet strike. Paint is blasted away making it appear larger.

Hope you enjoy the videos. Comments and suggestions are always welcomed :)

Kind regards, Harry (Yrrah).

Nice video & shooting.
Thanks for reminding me David. I must oil that axle

Did you notice the flattened pellets bouncing up off the ground and spinning away?
The flight slow motion tells much of the story as to why some pellets are so much better than others from a given gun.
How's the Rapid shooting for you? Write us a review! ............ Best regards, Harry.

Hi Harry nice videos, what camera and speed are you running those videos at 240 or 1000fps. I'm experimenting with a casio exlim fh100 and seben myself.

Neil they're taken at 240 frames/ sec then Widows Live Movie Maker is used to slow them further. My camera is he same model as your own.

Glad you appreciated them and no doubt you have other technical questions. Have you yet seen anything comparable from the "renowned gurus" :?:

I have just returned from the farm. It was WET but I managed to give the FX Elite a work out with the spare barrel in .22 cal. Very pleased with the result. A couple of examples:

71 yards JSB 18.1 gr 5 shots:

Surprise result; 25.4 gr JSB Monster Stratons, five at 50 yards:

The silhouette ram swinger is scaled to 50 yards.

Kind regards to you Neil and all others here. Harry.

Hi Harry you've obviously sorted the settings well.
I can't recall anything on my local forum. Perhaps I will be the first. :D . A few of the lads on other GB forums are doing stuff with cameras and most are on you tube somewhere. :) Ted's Holdover channel with the Hw100 was enlightening.
