New Savage on it's way
I just couldn't help myself. I just brought a Model 12BTCSS in 22-250. And I couldn't refuse a VX3L 6-20x56 to mount to it. Will be a while before I get a chance to shoot it... but I'm looking forward to seeing how it shoots. It's my first Savage!!

Very nice looking rifle Lowndsie,
A lot of good things have been said of savage's.
When you get all up and running, tell us how it shoot's.
Regards Albert.

Re: New Savage on it's way
Whats the difference between a BTCSS say and a VLP? Should be a shooter
Brother showed me his last group out of his VLP 22-250 last night, 8 shots into .9 outside to outside. I think 7 of them were closer to .4/5 at 200meters. Very impressive as its had no other work done to it.

Very nice mate, keep us informed of it's performance.

Lowndsie, I'm sure you won't be disappointed, they shoot small groups though do suffer a bit more copper fouling than some of the top grade benchrest barrels.
Try some hand made benchrest bullets made with J4 jackets. These foul a lot less which will help the 22-250 go longer between cleans. A lot of the 22-250 buffs won't shoot anything else. What's the extra $5 cost when the benefits are very measurable in a good rifle.
