6.5x47
Can anyone tell me if this case will feed from a magazine or it strictly a single shot bench cartridge?. I know you can by the brass is it easy to reload for a newbie? What bolt face and action is it suited to (got short action remy 700 in .22-250). Can i buy a secondhand match barrel say 28-30" and have it cut and rechambered to 24" for hunting or is it easier/better to buy new?

1. Will feed, may need to change follower
2. Boltface will be fine
3. Reloading is the same as any other
4. I would buy new.
Cheers

Like AI said.
May need to take the spacer out of your magazine box too. The 6.5x47 loaded round is quite a bit longer than a 22/250 (but not as long as a loaded 308).

No load information available on the ADI site - it dates from 2006 which is well before this cartridge was made available.
My two 6.5x47s use 38.x gns of AR2208 to get
3000fps from the 123gn scenar (24in barrel) and
2800fps from the 120gn Nosler BT (20in barrel).
Overall it is a good cartridge for up to 140gn bullets, past that there just is not the boiler room necessary. The 120gn NBT is remarkably like a 270 Winchester in performance.

Actually I'm thinking only gun shooting 100gr nbt or similar in a short action cos I already have a spare one to shoot everything from rabbits to pigs

Downside for hunting - brass is $157/100. Lapua the only option at the moment unless you can form your own cases from something else..
