What types of wildcats would you like to try?

Been looking into some wilcats in an attempt to cure boredom and got me thinking of possible wildcats that would be cool. Dunno if they have been thought of before but I would love to have a crack at a 7.62x39(AK-47) necked to either a .17 or .20cal.
And maybe not a wildcat but the Chinese military 5.8x42mm sounds a little better than .223 on medium game

22/243 Middlestead.... never heard of it but looks interesting. The other 2 .... well would be painfull!

Reckon a .17 Akley hornet would be good for rabbits and stuff would be cheaper to reload than buying .22 or 17HMR

on my list that I will do one day 20 br 55gn vld and 1 in 8 twist, 22x47 lap with fast twist and 75gn amax

I reckon that a 20 Hornet would be about perfect mix of bullet weight and cartridge size.
The gents on Saubier don't seem to rate it that well though. Also very very close to a 19 Calhoon.
I'm in the process of building a 6.5 Grendel.

.22/243 Middlestead 1:14 twist - .22/6mm Rem 1:8 twist, .260 Rem AI (will be going together soon).
Was tossing up .375 H&H AI, but have decided to get it re-chambered to .375 Weatherby.

Like to try:
6/284 and 6/06, 27/308, 550Express, 35-30/30 ... short actioned 45cal magnum.

Con, I like the sound of your 270/308, the ole 308 case has a few different size bullets matched to it and they are all pretty good performers.

I would like to have a play with the 310 cadet necked down to .17 or .20 in a martini cadet action. My great uncle played around with these a little and also with the 218Bee. A 17Bee or Ackley Hornet would be fun too the little Bee looks very efficient in 17. A 20-222 rimmed in my martini hmm yes their is a pattern here
Will be building a 6.5x55AI hopefully in the next 12months not really a wildcat though.
Some great Ideas from everyone so far.

I have been thinking lately of a .17 based on the 250 case. I don't know if it has been attempted.
I have another but will not post it for fear of it being hijacked, if it's successful (which I am adamant that it will be) you will all be the first to know about it.
