I'll say it once and I'll say it again: Savage are underrated and they really know how to appeal to niche markets! I just wish that they would become a bit more popular! I say this even though I don't own a savage LOL

It's a bit of a gimmick I think, but good on them for innovation.

I have a LRPV in 6mmbr and while I have only had time to fire it once I love it. It's a heavy bitch so I wouldn't mind fluting the barrel, looks sweet too.

It's coming home to Perth this week ! Yeah baby...Yeah...

Savage certain are coming out with some nice looking stuff and stuff that performs well by all accounts.

Certainly, if I was after a new boltgun I'd be short listing a Model 11 BTH.

G'Day All,
dont knock a double ported rifle till you try one so smooth and damned fast.........5 accurate shots in less than 20 secs out of my BAT BR rifle.

You open the bolt grab it ejects as you grab another round, load and shoot.

Ideal for a varmint enriched enviorment!

Cheerio Ned

I really want to try a Savage.... I here they shoot great, some great ideas that shows that the guys designing/making teh rifles are indeed very keen shooters themselves... but I just cant come to that nut thing at the back of action....... I wish they would do away with it!!

Maybe oneday... I like the sound of that 6mmBR rifle though.. interesting!

Cheers

Mate..

I am not talking about the barrel nut, thats fine....its the extra bit of metal that looks like it was a add on after it was made that is located where the bolt handle joins the bolt. That funny looking spacer thing... F it off Savage.....

Cheers

I have a few blog entries that I need to get up (havn't had the time because of a split with the missus and all that jazz.....), I ahve had some great results from my Savage LRPV in .204
Rembering that I had never reloaded at all before, I managed to get 5 shots at 100m into a 10 cent peice. I will try to get motivated this weekend and post up the pictures and stories in my blog!

I was in the market for a LRPV in 204R cos i liked the idea of single shot, bull barrel, RB LP receiver etc. but i'm just not experienced enough to know what i'm doing so i ordered an 85 stainless varmint instead :(
Btw, what are the advantages of a dual port over the earlier left port only LRPV?

I'm hearin you AI, IMO they need something on the back of the bolt too! looks like they have left something off.
They just dont look right to me.
