can I name it?

finally worked it out with Shane, my 204 ruger short will have the shoulder pushed back 30 thou, easy forming and necking down in a modified 204 fl die. I will get my slightly longer neck.
Do you reckon this is sufficiently different from the TAC 20 to give it a name or is it pretty much the Tac 20 arrived at in a different manner?

OK smartarses, the post isnt looking for a name, its asking anyone who knows enough about the TAC 20 is it different enough to warrant a name, you know, just for a laugh
Pat I just asked on Saubier, we'll see if they think the question is too stupid to even get a reply. Maybe a 40 degree shoulder would make the difference

its shorter, its a 223 case. If a 204 case fitted the magazine then it would be a 204 or the 204 case necked up to 22 cal like a 222rem mag AI

20 (.204 inches) is the calibre so you use the same projies in any 20 cal its just the size of case behind it that varies.

I love the idea of "wildcats". Back in the '40's and 50's anyone who had something different, had their own name.
I say, go for it Trev------ I personally like Knackers twist on your cartridge---- 204 TLC.
for what it is worth---- my Dad was one of the first guys in Australia to shoot the "new" 243 Win. This was way back in the early 50's He would use 30/06 ammo, knock out the projectiles, save the powder, neck the cases down through several stages, ( I still have some of his early dies from Bill Marden Snr ), trim the cases and eventually end up with a 243 case.
Load up with a 70 gn Taipan projectile and he would shoot kangaroo's " that far away, by the time I got to skin 'em out, the foxes had eat'em".
You gotta love "wildcatters" Malcolm

Malcom, my Dad and his mates used 303/25s in the 50s and my uncle a 303/22.Dad told me a story of a bloke who had one of those 243s reckoned : when he shot it over the bonnet it would burn the paint
.They may have known each other.
