Hi guys,
Heres my dilema. Will have a bit of money to spend on rifle/s in the near future. Here are my options:
Option 1: CZ 452 American .17HMR and a CZ 527 American .222 (+ nice Scopes etc)
Option 2: Anchutz 1710 DKL .17 HMR (+ a very nice scope etc)
Option 3: Sako Quad Kit with 4 barrels .17M2 .22Lr .17 Hmr .22 WMR (Buris scope to match)
What would you choose?
Sako Quad-Anchutz 1710-CZ 452?

Mate Id go the CZ combo, you couldnt loose with a CZ hummer and a .222.

Buy a CZ varmint in .22lr and a .204 of any one of the good quality centre fire companies.
When I was a young bloke in my teens I only had a .22 rimfire and managed to kill lots of critters with it, It truely is a great little calibre.
Why bother with the .222, get something with a bit more oomph.
Just my thoughts.
Whatever you buy ,you will have fun with.
Regards

As chris.tyne said, it depends on what it'll be used for, and also what you already have.

Re: Sako Quad-Anchutz 1710-CZ 452?
I already have a CZ 452 lux .22lr, a Sako Varmint .223 and a Sako 25-06 (my safe queen).
I don't really 'need' anything. But a light walk around rifle would be nice covering small varmints. I thought a .17 HMR would fit the bill. The .222 would be nice for the former as well as roos, dogs and goats in a nice light handy rifle (also i have dies and a few hundred .222 rounds already). I will also be getting a 30-06 for bigger stuff but thats another story.
I hope this helps

Like the way you think Dan. The light varminter concept is good - I have gone with an Anschutz 1517 DHB in .17HMR (a light little rifle in spite of its heavy barrel), an old Brno ZKW465 in .22 Hornet and an old Sako L46 .222 fullwood. One of my .22/250AI's is a relatively light weight as well.
Out of your preferred options I would go with the CZ's, maybe the .17HMR would be the set trigger version.

I would go the .17 HMR either the Annie or the CZ.

G'day Mulga,
Be wary of the Sako, I have a heavy barrelled .22lr, set trigger, 6-24X44 Bushnell 4200 Elite scope and my 36 year old Sportco shoots just as good, another club member tried barrell tuner, rechamber to precision chamber on his,he sorted ammo by weight and size then finally fitted a new barrell.
Regards Rolfy.
