Just ordered qd rings for my Atn. I think I like it now and as it remembers multiple profiles I thought I would
Like to try swapping onto the 22 from time to time.

That means I need a picatinny rail on the 22 . Then I have to work out how to mount the ir illuminator. I don’t like stuff hanging off the barrel.

So it’s a cz 452 sporter in a Boyd’s varmint stock, very well floated.

So do I buy a bit of rail and try to make a flat bit under the stock and screw it on and hang the light off it? Sort of bastardise the stock. Which is not a problem.

Or do I sell the 22 and is there another type out there that has a rail for the scope and something on the foreend to hang the light.

Just considering before spending money on the cz as it might be more cost effective to just replace it

Keep it simple Trev. Put the torch on the scope.
You need a 30mm scope mount with a Pic rail section attached. Pretty sure I have a few spare. Can post you down one of you like?

And a picatinny rail for the CZ is $95 and I've found a bit of rail that attaches to a sling swivel stud and a torch mount with elevation adjustment to go on it!

This may be easier than I thought

Ruger Precision Rimfire.

Fenring / Foxfire has been making good use of one from memory.
As a chassis rifle it will also be a familiar shape and form as the one you already have.

I like mine, but by the time you hang a torch and bipod off it, it is a heavy, bulky bastard.

Only the original non-QD mounts have the rail built in.

Rob I have a qd mount on the torch so it clips on and off the rail very easily but the underside of a standard stock is sloped so it would be hard to line the light up with the aim point. This torch mount I say on eBay is adjustable. Can move the beam up and down and lock it when you get it right so you can adjust for the slope of the stock.

Mick I thought of looking at a chassis but I think I’ll keep to one chassis rifle.

The young bloke I purchase mentored came round last night to make up his first rounds. He ordered a howa barrelled action and MDT chassis. Came up very well

Yes I have some of those but hearing so many reports of finicky things these do I would prefer not to attract to the scope. And that light is quite wide. If attached to the scope or might not clear the obj

Reports about what and from where?
I’ve been using one of those scope ring rails for at least the last 12 months with no issues and my torch is the bigger badder brother of yours. If there were going to be issues I think it would have happened by now.
Regarding clearing the objective lens, there’s only one way to know...
Apart from the scope ring pic rail the rest of the torch mount is the one supplied by Sniperhogs that came with the torch.

I've attached rail sections to the left side of rifle fore ends. You can shim / space the front end of the rail to account for the stock taper.

Why is your light bigger than mine?

And just mounting it to the scope is boring. Why use equipment I already have when o can spend more money
