It’s alive!!!!!

Post by dashooter »

Fresh out of the scientific laboratory of one R Le Maitre and ready for action.
He won’t shoot it cause ‘he’s not crazy’ lol
Stock needs a refinish but it will do for now.

Looks like it will come up very nicely with some oil Rob.

Not as big as some. It was a .300 Wobbly, now it’s a .30-378 Wobbly (hence the brake). Lol

Should do (I hope). Might have to consult with the wood whisperer on a mix once I’ve stripped it back to see what lays underneath (natural color). Not sure if I want it as dark as the Winchester I did with Tung oil.
Time will tell I guess.

Muzzle brake will be cerakoted to match barrel.
I can see light reflecting off it through the scope.

Russell did a great job on everything he touched. Enlarging the boltface was the hard part he said. Came up really schmick.

30-378 rock. Have fun.
It was a straight 378 that gave me my first Wobbly eyebrow.

I think I have 4 inches of eye relief on the scope and hopefully the brake does it’s bit too.
Russell has a similar brake on his .270 Wby and he can see the hole punch in paper targets at 100 meters.
My brake is a tad bigger in size than his but same basic design.

You'll have no worries. I do like the look of his brakes. The 378 that got me was under 9lb and a Monte Carlo stock. Came back bloody fast and hard. The 30-378 I had was a ripper. Never got to use it on truly big game but anything I shot in the pig and goat range was hammered.
Cheers
