Howa Mini
Howa Mini
Dropped in to the LGS just to fondle a Mini Howa 20" HB in 223Rem. Each visit I want to bring it back home, hard waiting for the 204Ruger due Nov. Side by side comparison to a regular Howa is stark. Much slimmer action, handles wonderfully rather than that clumsy heavy feel.
Why they didn't see fit to release a 7.62x39, 300Blackout, 6.8SPC right after the 223Rem I have no idea. A flush magazine will make it a sweet little gun.
I told Johno these would be hot little nuggets. Match a 204 to a x39 in HB models, you'd be set!!
Cheers...

Re: Howa Mini
I would have considered one but they simply weren't available...
Would love to see a decent review of the .223 HB.

Re: Howa Mini
Whilst it'd kind of defeat the purpose, a regular 24" HB on the Mini would be cool too.
I really am trying not to buy a 223Rem.

Just do it Con, you obviously want to and if you expect the fine folk of AV to talk you out of it you're going to be disappointed

Re: Howa Mini
Hey Con and Johno, well I relented and actually fondled one of these little chaps today in the LGS. Hmmmm not bad, but would much prefer to have a wooden stock and a flush magazine, and no plastic trigger guard and magazine housing, but I spose they are aimed at a market that seems to want plastic stuff hanging off it. Would have liked to feel the balance of a varmint weight with a 24 inch barrel, 20 is just too short in my opinion. Action was smooth, so cant complain about that. Would I get one, hmmm, no not at the asking price of 980.00, was told the barrelled action was around the 780.00 mark, nope wouldn't go that way at that price. For me, they are just another plastic stainless rifle, sure they will sell, but just not up to the hysteria that has been put out about them.
