I'm a big fan of cz/brno rifles and own quite a few.
I managed to pick up a brand new cz527 17 remington (don't think many of these made it to Australia) and I seem to have won the timber lottery. It's nearly too good to take shooting compared to my others.
My original plan was to have it rechambered to 17 fireball but I may as well see if I like the 17 Remington over the next few months before I bother mucking around with it.
Here's a few picture's from my low quality phone camera.

Cheers. I need to buy one of those skinny cleaning rods before I shoot her.
I'm not sure what scope I should go for as the best thing I have is a vx2 4-12 (on a cz527 fireball) and haven't really needed anything better.
I think this one deserves something better though.
The Americans come with rings but the varmints don't for some reason.
Zeiss are a bit out of my price range unfortunately.
Any thought's on the meopta meopro scope's?
They seem to get some good reviews and the price is reasonable

I had a look through a 3-9x42 Meopta scope yesterday, seems like a nice scope, clarity was fine and on par with most I've looked through, good eye relief at around 3 or 4" only thing I noticed was when on 9x mag it was a bit eye position sensitive (didn't take much to lose the sight picture as such - I would like to see how they perform in low light/spotlighting situations, they also have a biggish eyebox too so you need to make sure the bolt will clear it ok.
I had one that I sold to my cousin as while waiting for it to turn up (I ordered through the LGS and then forgot about it, arrived around 6 months later) I had found a Zeiss conquest. If the Meopta had arrived first I doubt I would have looked to replace it.
In a by side comparison with the Zeiss under the spotlight I couldn't see any discernible difference however I know Missed has quite a different view on image quality with the Meopta. For me, if both of the scopes had been on a table and I had to choose I would go with the Zeiss because the hunting turrets and the wider centre section of the duplex reticle better suit my needs. My cousin loves the Meopro on his .204.

I have a Meopro 6x18x50, pretty happy with it.
Interesting, I was quoted one of these the other day and had a quick squiz through it. It's pretty hard to evaluate a scope in a gun shop, so I appreciate someone here sharing there opinion. FWIW I couldn't see any significant difference between another scope I was also looking at which leaves me just as confused as when I walked in.
