Remember

Post by Camel »

Sometime back I stuffed the barrel in my CZ 22lr, well I got a barrel off Tony Z on here, just had word from my gun plumber in Griffith that the job is finished. So guess who is going for a drive in the morning ? Almost as good as getting a new rifle. Will chuck it into a spare stock and see how she goes. Guess I will need to find another scope for it now.

Ok a few photos, haven't put it together properly as I cant find the action screws, they are there somewhere, any ideas please ??

Barrel is thicker and two inches shorter than the factory version, but jeez I am liking the way its looking, the fluted S/S barrel and the blue laminate stock look bloody nice together I reckon. Hope to try it out this weekend, screw discovery permitting.

How many CZs do you have? Just pull the screws out of one of the other ones.

don't let me hold you back Trev, there is nothing stopping you except maybe a little bit of fear. Kerriet

Factory standard is 20 inches, the new one is a tad under 18, say 17.9, Looks a little strange with the fore end coming that close to the muzzle, but will be nicely balanced with the extra weight. :D

Only the two Marcus, if I cant find the action screws I will just make a couple up. At least I will have the others to copy off. :D

Looks good camel

Should be nice and easy in the cabin, I would think.
Be interested to see how she shoots. I have been thinking about moving on the 17hmr and going back to the good ol .22. The 17has been good, but it's too much for some things and not enough for others. Just my opinion of course.
Good luck with it.

Teepee, that is one of the main reasons that I got rid of my 17HMRm it was pretty much a "Neither your arse, nor your elbow" kind of cartridge in my opinion. I liked it, there was plenty of accuracy, but very little use for it for me. I take two rifles when I am working, the 22 and one of my smaller centre fires. When the hare job disappeared, which I brought the 17hmr for, there was no need for having it.

Im hoping so mate, and yes Boyds stocks are very good. The fit my hand very well and the grip gives very good control of the rifle, got 6 of the buggers now. :D
