New 22-250 Bang stick.
At long last I got to test my new sako 85 s/s laminated varmint in 22-250 with a Leuplod VX3 6.5-20X LR scope using Winchester ballistic silvertips in 55gn.
As usual it was windy, with full value crosswinds from 20-25kph (and about 33c), not ideal but I couldnt resist giving a go.
The first and second group showed lateral dispersion of about 1- 1.25" , the third group was shot with the winds all over the place but still stayed inside 1inch , (the first 3 groups were not filmed during the shooting).
The last group was the best one...shot no. 1,3 and 4 went into 0.375" with the second shot being pulled .
All groups were shot at 100 yds in gusty crosswinds except for the last which I managed to find 5 second gaps of no wind between shots.
Some groups took up to 5 mins to shoot due to the wind....over all Im very happy with its performance now I gotta source some more ammo which they tell me is very scarce at the moment.

Yeah mate , cant wait to pop some bunnies...BUT, they tell me there is a chronic shortage of ammo at the moment, Feds, Wins and Hornady might have to start hand loading for it.

Lovely rifle, hard to imagine a Sako 22/250 that didn't shoot
Shit you cop some wind down there, must make varminting a challenge. I have owned a 22/250
for over 40 years and only shot reloads which in mine allways went best at near full throttle.
Looking forward to your excellent videos when you stretch out that Sako
Cheers

Wish I was mate....that load is almost non existent here in SA,a mate who works in a gunshop told me that they cant see us getting any 55gn 22-250 ammo from the aforementioned manufacturers, for at least another 2 months . I have had some Hornady ammo on order since last December.
