The 280AI
McMillan F-Class Stock
Stolle Panda F-Class Polished action Bedded and Glued
2oz Jewel Trigger
32" 1.25 Parellel Broughton 9 twist Barrel
N/Force 12-42-56 Scope
Nightforce 6 screw high Mounts
Its proving itself as a very accurate Rifle ,Recoil is manageable and cases last forever and only 100 F/S slower than an R Saum magnum and not near as finicky too load !

Nice rigs BJ
Is the shehane a Ken McLaughlin stock? I like rifles that stand out on the mound. Will be hydro dipping my next one over the coming months as I build it.

Its a very nice rifle , That might be a bit one sides though

but I also like the 6mm Super LR Great little wildcat caliber and very nice to shoot still doing slight refinements with it though trying too get the best out of it

BJ- no Im fine- got a piece of laminate 1800x280x80 in the shed all marked out. Will start cutting out over the weekend. My stocks will look like the lovechild of the SG&Y F class stock and a PRT Lowboy. Ive never shot an f class gun with the pistol style grips, but I couldnt see it suiting my style. I prefer to shoot free recoil- even with the 284 shehane. It looks alot like Rod Davies great grey battleship come to think about it!

Nice rifles.
How do you find the f class stock with the 7mm? When I did some research before I bought mine there were quite a few people complaining about flex in the forend. I ordered one and given mine is a 223 flex won't be an issue.

Read the same reports, had me wondering for a while

,but I haven't had a problem with mine even with the front rest overhang at a minimal onto the stop with a big heavy barrel. I have very little give in mine. it tracks well on the bag, no torque ,No elevation problems nothing .Often wondered if McMillan might have let a few bodgy stocks out the door at some stage

What twist rate is your 6mm SLR I'm assuming you run 105/107 projectiles.
Cheers

Nice setups. Good choice in cals.
What load are you running in the 280AI.
I had an F class mcmillan and swapped it to the mbr.
In a 300wsm it was torquing badly. In a straight 284 it was not as bad but i still felt I was getting flex. Used another one later and could not fault it. So maybe some early ones had issues.
Cheers

G,Day Macca ,
My 280 AI has a match barrel .310 neck, long throated to suit 180 Bergers so all my cases are neck sized too .307" (loaded round) It seems to like Hybrids more than VLD's .
( I DONT RECOMEND ANYONE TO LOAD TOO THESE RATES BEFORE STARTING 10% LOWER AND WORK YOUR LOADS UP IN INCREMENTS OF .3 of a GRAIN AS ALL RIFLES VARY ) I run Federal 210 primers ,Running 50 grains 2209 with 00.10 " jump. I have run 2217 @ 59 grains with good results as well 2217 powder is a bit slower burning, but you can't pick the difference in accuracy , I personally think the rifle is a little smoother to shoot on 2209 if that makes sense burn rate just seems smoother ( can't explain it any better than that )

!
When I ordered that stock I did have a few misgivings wondering if I had made the right decision

, but honestly I may have been lucky Dunno, it is an excellent stock and I don't have any regrets about purchasing it what so ever .
