Terrible Triplets and Big Brother

Post by Camel »

Just a few photos of my Terrible Serbian triplets

Little sister is only 17
17 222 (Medium).JPG
but she packs a punch way above her weight. :D

Middle sister is 20
20 222 (Medium).JPG
She takes over when the going gets a bit too much for lil sis :D

And the eldest is just 22
22 PPC (Medium).JPG
She is the short dumpy one of the family, but I wouldn't like to be standing in front of her when the going gets tough. :D

And standing in the background is their big brother at 300
Big Brother (Medium).JPG
he may be pink and only a win fag, but there isn't much that will take a solid hit from the gay one in the family.

The family get together, as you can see they are quite a close family. :D

Thanks fellas, was feeling a little down after the shamozzle last night, so just wanted to lighten my spirits a little.

Gib Gogree, I look at it this way, the Serbians took the best bits off the Sarkos and then improved them, I am just doing my little bit to keep them encouraged.

You may be wondering how they keep in such good shape, well here is what they consume. A very balanced diet.

Just for kicks and in the interest of science, I actually shot a rabbit with the 17 last night, just to see what 20 grains of lead and copper could do to one when travelling at around 3900fps. Pretty conclusive experiment I think.

Range......not very far. :D

I see you're a fan of the Boyds TH stocks - they just finish off a rifle nicely I reckon and don't cost an arm and a leg to look good and feel great to shoot too. :D

Gotta admit there is nothing quite like playing around with the contents of the gun safe to make one feel just that little bit better 8)

Yeah Scott, they fit my hand really well and the price is very good. Pity they don't make a Varmint profile stock to fit the Zastava M85 action, I would prefer the fore end to be a little wider and longer by about 3 inches. They are actually shorter overall than the stock on the CZ rimfire.

Im thinking of getting the bottom and sides milled square with the barrel channel, then building them up and lengthening them with some laminate, followed by a paint job to cover the colour differences. Either that, or finding a way around the export policy of Richards Microfit. Have emailed Boyds and asked if they would make some varmint stocks for the M85, but no reply so far. will try them again soon. I think maybe the fire they had at the laminate suppliers factory has taken a toll on what they have, as I notice they don't even have a laminate listed for the M85 anymore, :(

Those Zasties look really good there Camel, and a great spread of chamberings. If Imrebarrel my A1 it will be in 20-222.

What stock is on the 22PPC? It is my choice of the three.

Its a walnut job from Boyds, they haven't got any thumbholes left for the M85, so I got what was available. Its not a bid bit of timber really, has some nice mineral lines in it going from butt to fore end tip. they are only semi finished and come for the princely some of 74 bucks US, plus postage of course. Very close to a drop in fit, closer than the other thumbholes actually. Gave it an oil finish ala Missed system.

Thanks Marcus

What about just buying one of their "Uninletted" thumbhole stocks and getting it inletted for the M85 action? I got one sitting here for the day I buy something that they don't have a stock for. :D

I assume they still sell "Uninletted" send them a email and find out I guess.

Last quote I got for inletting it was around $100 so wasn't an expensive exercise (from Pine Rivers Gunshop).

Yeah Scott, there is always that option as well. when I got the walnut job from them for the PPC, I was in a hurry to get the build finished, so just went with what was available. It feels a bit weird, but I think that is just because I have go so used to the thumbhole stocks over the years. I may even go down that route, I dunno will see how it pans out. :D

Nice collection you have there, Camel

Nothing better than sitting back and viewing that lot every time you feel a bit down.
Not to mention taking them out and snapping a few caps now and again.

Yeah I had the same issues re it feeling weird when I bought that 204 Howa with the Prairie Hunter stock on it, I was so used to the thumbholes by then, but as with anything diff you soon become accustom to it and it too soon feels normal.
