Browning A-bolt

Who owns one and what is your opinion?

Number two son is looking at one and the only browning experience I have is BLR and BPR.

I've had a couple of BAR's in the good old days a mate had one in 224 Wssm? I think it was more the cal than the rifle couldn't get it to shoot real well.

Those 223WSSM were a nightmare. He's looking at a 300WSM. Just after feedback on the A Bolt in general.

A mate up here has a synthetic one in 308win. He has never had any dramas with it and is moa accurate. It's not pretty but it is a workhorse.

Tried selling but no one wants it reckon I might take on the challenge and beat the calibre. Any way the rifle itself has been good the plastic stock is perfect for hanging out the window and knocking around so should be a good choice.

A mate had 3-4 223WSSM Winchester coyote's. All replaced under warranty after losing accuracy after 2-300 rounds. Glad yours works for you .

I've got a synthetic in .308 it shoots half moa groups. Barrel is like a pencil but if you are carrying it around all day that's probably a good thing. Get the trigger spring changed and it will make a huge difference.

been pretty happy with my a-bolt. doesn't get a huge amount of work. maybe 1-200 rounds thrown through it in the last 5 yrs. nice smooth action. obviously not standard anymore, shoots well!

Just had a good look at an A-Bolt and bugger me! Could you get a more solid looking bolt?

I had one of the varmint weight synthetic stocked 243wssm versions. It was actually very accurate. Sold it to build something or other

Glen I had one in hornet I converted to 19 hornet, shot great as hornet & 19. Like 17hmr's it was an early one with a smooth action.

17hmr shoot me a pm if you ever want to sell that, set the barrel back and chamber to 300 savage
