CZ 527 trigger

Since buying my 17 hornet last year I've come to disliking the minimum trigger weight that can be adjusted with the factory trigger. Has anyone on here had there's lightened with good results? I'm thinking it may just be easier to fit a rifle basix drop in as I don't like using the set function.

Where do you live? if its anywhere near Colyton NSW the Ebay Trigger guy could probably sort it out and would cost around $50 if you drop it in (I don't think he can do just the trigger via post going by his ad on ebay).

I can get it done here locally for about the same. I was just curious as to what others have done with thiers. If the factory one is no go I'll buy the basix drop in and then I can do a review on it.

Have you tried to adjust the factory trigger so the set option is gone. If they are the same as the cz453 rim fires, you can get rid of the set and then adjust it so the single stage trigger is very fine, mind are down to around .5 pound, also fitting a trigger shoe is very good too give it a better feel.

One word of caution though, when set this low the safety is not useable, so it will be up to the user to use caution.

I've done that already camel. Still didn't give the results I was after. It got down to over a kg but still doesn't feel how I want it.

I have one with a rifle basix and one "clancied" factory trigger. I prefer the factory.

Its about 12 0z or so unset. Light enough that I forget to set it most times and the set trigger is like 2 or 3 oz or something ridiculous like that.

I think the basix may be a dodgy one as it had a little bit of travel in it before breaking and he couldnt adjust it out, funnily enough it seems to have stopped doing that all on its own last few times out. I have rifle basix on 2 other rifles and think highly of them.

Trevort do you know what he did to the factory trigger to achieve that pull weight? I was going to change the spring first and see how that goes then start polishing the sear.

Mate that's why I loved Clancy. I didn't need to understand how he did it, he just did it

Yeah fair enough trevort if it works then it's a good thing. I'll get the boys to work their magic and see how they go.

How are you Wardy, I dont understand what your trying to achive? Trying to get rid of set trigger so that the main trigger is lightest? or trying to adjust set trigger to be lighter/heavier?
