Do I have rocks in my head?

I have just ordered a Boyds stock for my .22-250 Savage Axis.

It shoots well but as most of my shooting is off a bipod I thought I would replace the noodle like stock with something a bit stiffer in the hope it will aid in accuracy.

I do have this little voice in the back of my head telling me I can't polish a turd, so do I have rocks in my head?

I've had the same thought about my Marlin XS7. It could do with some assistance.

It's not silly to consider a cost effective upgrade to a cost effective firearm....

Let us know how the stock goes.

Don't listen to the little voices mate, they haven't got a clue what they are saying, its the big ones behind your head you have to worry about, i.e. the missus :D

I have them on 2 out of 3 of my steves actioned rifles, marked improvement over the original stock. 3rd one is just waiting for some funds. I much prefer the little bit of extra weight and added rigidity of the boyds, my 223 is an absolute joy to shoot and one of the most cost effective upgrades going I reckon.

Like Mark said, just ignore the voices, dodge the one waving a rolling pin and smile quietly to yourself knowing that your rifle shoots better than some of those that cost many times more

If the polish is cost effective, rub away!

Can't go wrong replacing a noodle stock with a Boyd's. Only downside is it will add some heft.
