T3 or Sendero

Hey guys,
Whilst lurking in the strong room at work the other day I stumbled across a brand new Rem 700 Sendero in 300Win Mag. . . .
is it worth the extra $400 or so to get the Sendero or do I stick with the T3?
At this point I'm thinking of staying with the T3 as that $400 will account for the brake, muzzle threading, dies and brass...
But the Sendero II is a sexy rifle and has a 26" barrel.... I dunno.....
What do you guys think?

You said it. The sendero is a sexy looking rifle and its right there in front of you. Not going to knock the tikka but think the $400 be worth it in long run.

I would be on the Sendero for that $$$ difference.
BUT...
see if you can do two things with it first.
1/ grab the bolt and put some ink on the back of the bolt lugs. Put it in the action and see if the ink is rubbed off evenly.
2/ grab a borescope and inspect the crown.
If the ink only comes off one locking lug, or the crown is uneven you know you have some small gunsmithing charges coming to make it shoot to true potential. The Tikka is unlikely to need this work, but the Tikka stock is not as nice as the HS Precision stock on the Sendero.

Its really a no Brainer Keith. Just buy the Sendero as then you can spend a small fortune to make it really trick or it may just be good as is.
Maybe you need to do a review on it

I also like the Sendero, especially the stock BUT, it's a fricken Remington and you will have to replace everything to make it come close to the Tikka.

adamjp gave really good advice.
I had my switch barrel trued . It was pretty ordinary according to the smith.
See my group from the seven mil mag, they can shoot for a remingington.
Both are good rifles. Just don't like the tikkas stock.
Cheers

I have a Tikka and a fully trued rem. The rem is my favorite rifle. Dr G likes it as well.
The Tikka T3 is my most annoying rifle. All done on a budget with a Vortex Diamond back and 55gn Nosler shots and letting a 14 yo do the load development, including test shots. So farking annoying when the low cost option shoots near as good as the customised Rem

Damien's comments rang true, I couldn't be bothered buying a $1800+ rifle and having it not shoot properly out of the box. I know I will get something workable with the Tikka and for nearly half the price which gives me money to get all the other bits and pieces I need for it.
I do really like the Sendero though.
